β¦ The air quality sensor - G238- is installed on the front right (in
direction of travel) of the air intake grille in the plenum chamβ
ber.
β¦ The air quality sensor - G238- is a highly sensitive electronic
component which could be destroyed by direct contact with
solvents, fuels and certain chemical compounds.
β¦ Do not install a sensor that has been kept e.g. in a tool box.
β¦ Do not place a removed sensor in an area where it can come
into contact with solvents, fuels and certain chemical comβ
pounds.
β¦ The air quality sensor - G238- is installed only in vehicles with
Climatronic.
Removing
β Remove cover for fresh air intake β page 169 .
β Release retaining tab -2- downwards.
β Pull air quality sensor - G238- -1- in -direction of arrow-.
β Separate electrical connector.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Observe the following:
β Read event memory and erase any entries β Vehicle diagβ
nostic tester in βGuided Fault Findingβ mode.

Note
β¦ The air quality sensor - G238- is installed on the air intake grille

chamber.

β Separate electrical connector.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Observe the following:

β Separate connector -2-.
Installing
β Fit connector -2-.
β Engage retaining clip -arrow-.
Note
Ensure electrical wiring connector is properly seated to prevent
ingress of water.

The humidity sender for air conditioning system - G260- and the
light and rain sensor - G397- form one component and are instalβ
led depending on vehicle equipment.

and turn it 90Β°.
