Removing  
– Removing plenum chamber cover β‡’ page 18 .  
– Unscrew bolts -3- and remove bulkhead -1- upwards.  
– Remove bulkhead -2-.  
Installing  
Install in the reverse order of removal observing the following:  
– Check seal -5- for damage, renew bulkhead -2- if necessary.  
Specified torques

Removing  
Note  
The removal and installation procedures for the plenum chamber covers may have to be modified slightly  
depending on model variants.  
– Remove wiper arms β‡’ Electrical system; Rep. gr. 92 ; Wind‐  
screen wiper system; Removing and installing wiper arms .  
– Pull off seal -4- along entire length of plenum chamber covers.  
– Loosen clips -3- (qty. 3) at bottom.

– First pull plenum chamber covers -2- by hand, starting from  
middle, upwards from windscreen seal -5-.  
– Lift plenum chamber covers -2- over wiper arm shafts -7-.  
– Remove plenum chamber covers -2-.  
– Then pull out plenum chamber covers -1- by hand, starting  
from middle, upwards from windscreen seal.  
– Remove plenum chamber covers -1-.  
Installing  
Note  
♦ An insert is fitted in windscreen seal of new windscreens. Remove this insert before installing plenum  
chamber cover.  
♦ Push the plenum chamber cover into the windscreen seal by hand using only slight force. Never force it in  
by hitting or using tools.  
♦ Striking or banging the plenum chamber cover into the windscreen seal may crack the windscreen.  
– Spray windscreen seal -5- with a soapy solution so that ple‐  
num chamber covers -1- and -2- are easier to press in.

– First push in plenum chamber covers -1-.  
– Place plenum chamber cover -1- on beading -5-. Starting from  
the outside, press into beading -5- by applying light pressure.  
– Then push in plenum chamber covers -2- over wiper arm  
shafts -7-.  
– Fit plenum chamber covers -2- onto windscreen seal -5-. Start‐  
ing from outside, press into windscreen seal by applying light  
pressure.  
– Attach clips -3- (qty. 3) at bottom.

– Fit seal -4- to plenum chamber covers -1- and -2-.  
– Install wiper arms β‡’ Electrical system; Rep. gr. 92 ; Wind‐  
screen wiper system; Removing and installing wiper arms .

– Pull off seal -4- along entire length of plenum chamber covers.

– First, starting from middle, pull plenum chamber covers -2- by  
hand upwards out of windscreen seal -5-.  
– Then, starting from middle, pull plenum chamber covers -1- by  
hand upwards out of windscreen seal -5-.  
– Remove plenum chamber covers -1- via wiper arm shafts  
-7-.  
– Remove plenum chamber covers -1-.  
Installing

Note
