♦ The removal of a bonded window is described using the Re‐
moval kit for flush bonded windows - V.A.G 1474 A- .
♦ Alternatively, you can also use the cutting tool for bonded win‐
dows - VAS 6452- .
♦ Another alternative is to use the window removal set - VAS
6888- .

– Remove side trim ⇒ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.
70 ; Trims, interior; Fitting location overview - trims, interior .
Protect surrounding parts against damage.
– Using the awl - V.A.G 1474/2- , pull cutting cord -1- through
the adhesive sealant at the place shown in the illustration.
– Press seal aside so that it is not damaged.

– Insert cutting cord -1- behind seal in window flange with aid of
tube -2-.
– Secure one end of cord -1- to pull handle - V.A.G 1351/1- to
counterhold.
Note
♦ Instead of reel device - V.A.G 1654- , reel device - V.A.G 1654 A- can be used.
♦ One suction cup can be removed from the reel device - V.A.G 1654- as shown in figure.

– Pull other end of cord -1- through adhesive sealant as well.
– Secure other end of cord to reel device - V.A.G 1654 A- -3-.
– Press cutting cord -1- against window glass with plastic wedge
during cutting process to allow it clearance at window flange.
– Turn reel device - V.A.G 1654 A- -3- accordingly and cut win‐
dow free.
Note
♦ When cutting through centring pins -4-, greater force is necessary.
♦ Centring pins are only relevant for production.
♦ A cut-out window can be installed without these centring pins.
