Removing  
– Screw off tank cover.  
Note  
The removal and installation procedure for the tank flap unit on vehicles with reducing agent filler neck is no  
different than that shown here.

– Using radio release tool - T10057- , punch through tank flap  
unit at markings -2- -arrows a-.  
– Insert radio release tool - T10057- through these openings  
-2- until the notch is reached.  
Retaining hooks -3- -arrow b- are released.  
– Peel rubber grommet off fuel filler neck.  
– Swing tank flap unit -1- out of the side panel -arrow b-.  
– Pull out tank flap unit -1- towards the rear -arrow a-.  
– Guide water drainage hose -4- together with tank flap unit out  
of side panel.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order, noting the following:

– Insert water drainage hose -4- through opening in tank flap unit  
-1- and then pull it through as far as it will go.  
– Push water drainage hose -4- into side panel.  
– Insert tank flap unit -1- in side panel -arrow a- and swing in  
-arrow b-.  
– Push tank flap unit -1- into side panel -arrow c- until retaining  
hooks -2- engage.  
– Pull sleeve over filler neck -3-.

Check function of release components.

– Push tank flap -1- out of catches of tank flap unit -2-  
-arrow a-.  
– Remove tank flap -arrows b-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order, noting the following:

– Push tank flap into catches of tank flap unit -arrow b-.
