– Release and disconnect electrical connector -3-.
– Press bracket -2- of interface for entry and start system - J965-
-1- at top in direction of -arrow A-.
– Remove interface for entry and start system - J965- -1- from
bracket -2- in direction of -arrow B-.
– Lever out catch -1- in direction of -arrow A-, using a small
screwdriver if necessary.
– Remove bracket -2- from support -3- in direction of -arrow B-.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:
– Ensure that bracket for interface for entry and start authorisa‐
tion system - J965- engages audibly.
– Ensure that interface for entry and start authorisation system
- J965- engages audibly in bracket.

Note
The driver door exterior handle touch sensor - G415- or front pas‐
senger door exterior handle touch sensor - G416- is integrated in
the respective exterior door handle and cannot be renewed indi‐

– Fold rear floor covering in rear left area towards front.
– Use removal lever - R137- to lever luggage compartment aer‐
ial for entry and start system - 80 - 200- -1- in
-direction of arrow A- off body.
– Release and disconnect electrical connector -2-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.

Removing and installing rear lid power
opening control unit - J938-
Removing
Note
♦ The rear lid power opening control unit - J938- is located be‐
hind the rear bumper cover. It can be removed and installed
through the aperture for the towing bracket.
♦ If the rear lid power opening control unit - J938- is renewed,
carry out adaptations in the interface for entry and start au‐
thorisation system - J965- using ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester.
– Release and disconnect electrical connectors -3-.
– Release catch on bracket -2- in direction of -arrow A-.
– Swing rear lid power opening control unit - J938- -1- out of
bracket -2- in direction of -arrow B- and remove.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:
– If rear lid power opening control unit - J938- has been re‐
newed, carry out basic settings in interface for access and start
authorisation system - J965- ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester.
7.12
Removing and installing rear lid power
opening sender -G750- / -G760-
Removing
– Remove rear bumper cover ⇒ General body repairs, exterior;
Rep. gr. 63 ; Rear bumper; Removing and installing bumper
cover .
– Detach wiring harness from upper retainer -3-.
– Release and disconnect electrical connector -7-.
– Remove retainers -1- from rear bumper cover.
– Release retaining lug -4- on upper cover retainer -3-, and open
cover in -direction of arrow-.
– Release retaining lug -4- on lower cover retainer -6-, and open
cover in -direction of arrow-.
– Unclip rear lid power opening sender -G750- / -G760- -2- from
upper retainer -3- and lower retainer -6-.
If required for any additional repair work, remove upper retainer
-3- and lower retainer -6- as follows:
– Pull upper retainer -3- with retaining clips off rear bumper cov‐
er.
– Remove spreader rivet -5- from lower retainer -6-, and remove
lower retainer -6- from rear bumper cover.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
