from being switched on unintentionally.
– Remove dash panel trim on driver side ⇒ General body re‐
pairs, interior; Rep. gr. 68 ; Compartments/covers; Removing
and installing dash panel trim on driver side .
– Remove lower A-pillar trim ⇒ General body repairs, interior;
Rep. gr. 70 ; Trims, interior; Removing and installing A-pillar
trim .
– Remove footrest ⇒ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.
70 ; Trims, interior; Removing and installing footrest .
– Unclip diagnostic connection from bracket.
– Disconnect electrical connectors -1, 2 and 3-.
– Press locking detent -1- to disconnect connectors.
– Swing retainer in -direction of arrow- and pull off connector.
Note
The red locking element on the connector in the middle must be
pulled out of the retaining clip to stop to allow for opening the
retaining clip.

– Pull connector -2- downwards out of guide.
– Release retaining springs -arrow-, swivel onboard supply con‐
trol unit -4- out of bracket -5- and remove downwards.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.

Removing

Note

– Remove guide -2-. To do this, release fasteners on guide in
-direction of arrow A-.

– Remove bracket -1- downwards from bracket for onboard sup‐
ply control unit -3-.

Removing and installing rear lid control
unit - J605-
The rear lid control unit - J605- is located below the moulded
headliner on the rear left roof cross member.
Note
If the control unit is renewed, perform the adaptation routines us‐
ing ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester.
Removing
– Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers.
– Keep the ignition key outside the vehicle to prevent the ignition
from being switched on unintentionally.
– Lower moulded headliner at rear ⇒ General body repairs, in‐
terior; Rep. gr. 70 ; Roof trim panels; Removing and installing
moulded headliner .
– Release and disconnect electrical connectors -2-.
– Release fasteners -arrows A- on rear lid control unit - J605-
-1-.
– At the same time, move rear lid control unit - J605- -1- to stop
in -direction of arrow B-.
– Remove rear lid control unit - J605- -1- towards front from
body.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
