– Press in locking lug -1- using a flat screwdriver, and lever out

glove compartment light -2-.

– Release and disconnect electrical connector -3-.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:

Note

If an LED glove compartment light - W6- is faulty, the entire light

must be renewed.

– Insert glove compartment light into opening and engage it on

opposite side.

– Perform functional check.

Replacing bulb for glove compartment

If an LED glove compartment light - W6- is faulty, the entire light

must be renewed.

Removing

– Remove glove compartment light - W6- ⇒ page 217 .

– Lever off heat shield -2- on both sides at arrows -A-.

– Remove heat shield -2- from glove compartment light - W6-

– Pull bulb -1- out of bulb holder -2- on reverse side of glove

compartment light.

Installing

well light - K268-

Removing

– Use a flat screwdriver to push in locking lug on front left foot‐

well light - K268- -2-.

– Lever off footwell light -2-.

– Release and disconnect electrical connector -1-.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:

Note

Since the footwell light is equipped with LEDs, the entire light must

be renewed in the event of a fault.

– Perform functional check.

Removing

– Release and separate electrical connector.

– Release retaining lugs on central locking SAFELOCK function

warning lamp - K133- -2- by pressing them -arrows-.

– Pull central locking SAFELOCK function warning lamp - K133-

-2- out of mounting -1-.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:

– Perform functional check.

– When doing this, note end cap -2- of roof ambient lighting bulb,

The end cap -2- must not get stuck in the sunroof frame but

needs to remain on the roof ambient lighting bulb, left - W76-

-1-.

Installing

Removing

– Use a flat screwdriver -arrow A- to push in retaining lug at front

– At the same time, swing luggage compartment light - W3- -1-

in -direction of arrow B- out of luggage compartment side trim.

– Release and disconnect connector on luggage compartment

light - W3- -1-.

– Press contact plate -1- of light in -direction of arrow-.

– Remove festoon bulb -2- from bulb holder.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:

– Insert luggage compartment light into opening and engage it

on opposite side.

– Perform functional check.

Removing

– Push electric torch - R280- -1- in -direction of arrow A-.

– Remove electric torch - R280- -1- in -direction of arrow B- from

retainer.

– Remove left luggage compartment side trim ⇒ General body

repairs, interior; Rep. gr. 70 ; Luggage compartment trims;

Removing and installing luggage compartment side trim .

– Release retaining lugs -3- on trim -2-.

– At the same time, pull retainer -4- for electric torch - R280- in

-direction of arrow C- off trim -2-.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:

– Retainer for electric torch - R280- must securely engage in

trim.

– Perform functional check.

Removing and installing surround light‐

ing 1 in rear lid - W61-

Special tools and workshop equipment required

♦ Removal wedge - 3409-

Note

Since the surround lighting 1 in rear lid - W61- is equipped with

LEDs, the entire light must be renewed in the event of a fault.

♦ When working with leverage tools, always mask off the

surround lighting 1 in rear lid - W61- -1- out of lower rear lid

– Release and disconnect connector on surround lighting 1 in

rear lid - W61- -1-.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:

Note

Since the surround lighting 1 in rear lid - W61- is equipped with

LEDs, the entire light must be renewed in the event of a fault.

– Perform functional check.

Removing and installing illuminated

vanity mirror -W20- / -W14-

Note

♦ Since the light for the illuminated vanity mirror is equipped with

LEDs, the entire light must be renewed in the event of a fault.

♦ Removal and installation are described for the left side. The

removal and installation procedure for the right-hand side is

basically the same.

Removing

– Swing sun visor forwards.

Caution

Danger of damage to component surfaces.

♦ When working with leverage tools, always mask off the

components installed in visible areas using commercially

– Insert a flat screwdriver into notch -arrow- and carefully lever

out vanity mirror light -1-.

– Disconnect connector, remove light for illuminated vanity mir‐

ror.

side.

evaporate when the bulb is switched on and cause the

glass bulb to cloud over.

♦ Wear e.g. clean fabric gloves when inserting bulbs.
