Removing and installing lane change  
assist warning lamp in exterior mirror -  
K233- / -K234-  
Note  
Removal and installation are described for the left side. The re‐  
moval and installation procedure for the right-hand side is basi‐  
cally the same.  
Removing  
– Remove mirror cover β‡’ General body repairs, exterior; Rep.  
gr. 66 ; Exterior mirrors; Removing and installing mirror cover .  
– Release retaining lugs on lane change assist warning lamp in  
driver side exterior mirror - K233- -1- in -direction of arrow A-.  
– Push lane change assist warning lamp in driver side exterior  
mirror - K233- -1- in -direction of arrow B- out of mirror cover.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal.

Removing and installing lane change  
assist control unit -J769- / -J770-  
Special tools and workshop equipment required  
♦ Torque screwdriver - V.A.G 1624-  
Note  
Removal and installation are described for the left side. The re‐  
moval and installation procedure for the right-hand side is basi‐  
cally the same.  
Removing  
– Remove rear bumper cover β‡’ General body repairs, exterior;  
Rep. gr. 63 ; Rear bumper; Removing and installing bumper  
cover .
