Removing
– Swing sun visor towards front.
– Fit a flat-bladed screwdriver on recess -arrow- and carefully
lever out light -1- for vanity mirror.
– Disconnect electrical connector.
– Detach sun visor -2- from centre mount -1-.
– Open caps -3- on sun visor mount.
Note
When carrying out the steps below, ensure that release pliers -
T10558- are positioned centrally in retaining clips.

– Release front retaining clip -3- in sun visor mount -1- from body
mounting using release pliers - T10558- .
– Hold sun visor in such a way that the retaining clip does not
engage again.
– Release rear retaining clip -3- in sun visor mount -1- from body
mounting using release pliers - T10558- .
– Carefully remove sun visor -2- with sun visor mount -3- down‐
wards from body mounting and remove transport lock.

– Pull wiring harness which is bonded to moulded headliner to‐
wards front. Disconnect connector and remove sun visor.
Note
Lower moulded headliner if the wiring harness is torn off while
»pulling it towards front«. Use the wiring harness repair set - VAS
1978 B- to repair the electrical wiring harness.
Installing
Note
Before installing, check all fasteners for damage and renew if
necessary.
– Wrap connector with one layer of foam tape.
– Grasp with one finger through recess in “vanity mirror” light.
and slightly pull down moulded headliner.
– Push connector between moulded headliner and roof cross
member towards rear by approx. 6 cm.
– Engage front retaining clip for sun visor mount in body mount‐
ing.
– Engage rear retaining clip for sun visor mount in body mount‐
ing.
– Ensure that both retaining clips are properly engaged in body.
Continue installation in reverse order of removal.

Removing and installing sun visor cen‐
tre mount
Note
Removal and installation is described for the sun visor centre
mount on the driver side. Follow same instructions for the front
passenger side as appropriate.

Removing
– Detach sun visor from sun visor centre mount and fold it aside.
– Turn sun visor centre mount -1- anti-clockwise -arrow- through

90° ( / turn).

– Remove sun visor centre mount -1- downwards.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.

Removing and installing roof grab han‐
dle
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Release tool - T10518A-
Note
Removal and installation is described for the left front roof grab
handle. Follow same instructions for the remaining roof grab han‐
dles as appropriate.
Removing
– Fold down roof grab handle -1- and unclip caps -2- using re‐
lease tool - T10518A- .

– Fold down roof grab handle -1- and push release tool -
T10518A- into left retaining clip -arrow- as far as stop.

Note
Greater force will be necessary in order to push the release tool
- T10518A- into the retaining clip as far as stop.
– With release tool - T10518A- being inserted, carefully pull on
roof grab handle -1- in the area of the left retaining clip.
– Unclip right retaining clip in the same way.
– The retaining clips -2- of roof grab handle -1- are now detached
from mountings in bracket for roof grab handle.
– Pull roof grab handle out of mountings.
– Slightly fit the 2 caps in roof grab handle, but do not engage
them yet.
Installing
Note
Before installing, check all fasteners for damage and renew if
necessary.

Roof grab handle -2- must be folded down during installation.
Both caps -1- must be inserted in roof grab handle -2-, but they
must not be engaged yet.

– Push roof grab handle -1- (folded down) into the assembly
openings in vehicle roof using the 2 retaining clips -2-.

– Release roof grab handle -1-. As a result, caps -2- will audibly
engage in locking position.
– Fold down roof grab handle, and check if both caps have fully
engaged in roof grab handle. In this case the caps are flush
with the respective base of the roof grab handle.
