Removing and installing air filter hous‐
ing
Removing
– Unscrew bolts -1-.
– Release catch -arrow- and remove cover -2-.
– Free off coolant hose -2-.
– Release fasteners -arrows- and detach air duct (top section)

Golf, Passat, Touran, Arteon
– Pull off vacuum hose -1-.
– Release hose clip -2- and detach air intake hose.
– Pull air filter housing -3- upwards out of rubber mountings,
and swing it out.

Sharan
– Pull off vacuum hose -1-.
– Release hose clip -2- and detach air intake hose.
– Unscrew bolt -3-.
– Pull air filter housing -4- upwards out of rubber mountings,
and swing it out.
Installing
Note
♦ Use a silicone-free lubricant when installing the air hose.
♦ Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose
clips (same as original equipment) ⇒ Electronic parts cata‐
logue (ETKA).
– Check air intake hose for salt residue, dirt and leaves (clean
air side).
– Check intake port for dirt as far as the air filter element.
– Install air filter housing. Note water drain hose while doing
this.
Note
Make sure to route the water drain hose downwards without
kinks.
