– Remove old O-ring -2- in coolant hose -3- if damaged.  
– Moisten O-ring with coolant, and insert it into coolant hose.  
– Push coolant hose onto coolant pipe -1- until it audibly en‐  
gages.  
– Press again on coolant hose and check plug-in connector is  
engaged correctly by pulling hose back.

– Unclip air ducts -1- on both sides at top from lock carrier -2-

– To do this, release catches -3- in -direction of arrow-, and  
pull off air ducts. Disregard arrows below.  
– Working through opening in lock carrier, press locking tabs  
for radiator on left and right -1-. Press radiator off charge air  
cooler.

– Working through opening in lock carrier, press locking tabs  
for radiator on left and right -1-. Press radiator off charge air  
cooler.  
All vehicles:  
– Swing radiator towards engine, and lift it out of charge air  
cooler mountings. Remove radiator downwards.

– If there are minor dents in the fins, refer to β‡’ page 8 .  
– Renew O-rings.  
– Insert radiator at an angle into lower charge air cooler  
mounting, and engage radiator in charge air cooler -arrow-.  
Ensure proper engagement by pulling.  
– Install radiator cowl β‡’ page 364 .  
– Connect coolant hose with plug-in connector β‡’ page 349 .  
– Fill with new coolant β‡’ page 286 .

– Remove front bumper cover β‡’ General body repairs, exte‐  
rior; Rep. gr. 63; Front bumper; Removing and installing  
bumper cover.  
– Remove guide profile -1- from lock carrier -2-. To do this,  
unscrew bolts -arrows-.  
– Unclip air duct -3- on left and right, and push it to one side.  
– Detach top coolant hose from radiator -arrow-.  
– Unscrew bolt -arrow- for refrigerant lines -1- at top right of  
radiator -2-.

– Release catches -arrows- for radiator mountings on left and  
right, or pinch them off using side cutters.  
Note  
The radiator mounting will be reused when reinstalling the radi‐  
ator. If the locking lugs of the radiator mounting are broken or  
pinched off, bolt the radiator mounting to the lock carrier. For  
bolts, refer to β‡’ Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA).  
– Push radiator towards engine, and remove sealing strips on  
left and right between radiator and condenser.  
– Press catches -1- on both sides in -direction of arrow A- to  
release them.

– Pull off condenser in -direction of arrow B-.  
– Secure condenser to lock carrier with cable ties.  
– Remove radiator downwards.  
Installing  
– Move radiator -1- to installation position from below. While  
doing this, make sure that the sealing strip is properly seat‐  
ed.  
– Tighten securing bolts -arrows- for charge air cooler -2-.  
– Cut through cable ties, and Β»attachΒ« and engage condenser  
on radiator.  
– Tighten bolt -arrow- for refrigerant lines -1- at top right of  
radiator -2-.  
– Install right sealing strip between radiator and condenser as  
shown in illustration.
