Electronic parking brake  
WARNING  
If the vehicle is abandoned improperly, it could roll away.  
This could lead to accidents, serious injuries and property  
damage.  
Using the electronic parking brake  
· Always park the vehicle in the order indicated ÿ p. 205,  
Park.  
· Before leaving the vehicle and after switching off the ignition,  
make sure that the electronic parking brake is engaged and  
that the control indicator lights up red in the instrument  
cluster display.  
Automatic disconnection when starting the march  
The electronic parking brake disengages automatically when  
starting off if, with the driver's door closed, any of the following

Manual gearbox: The clutch is depressed fully before starting

parking brake being used.  
1. With the Auto-Hold function activated, bring the vehicle to a  
stop with the brake ÿ p. 205.  
Manual transmission: Keep the clutch fully depressed or  
put it in neutral.  
2. Release the brake pedal ÿ .

General indications

The intelligent technology of parking systems cannot  
overcome the limits imposed by physical laws and only works  
within the limits of the systems. Never allow the greater comfort  
provided by parking systems to induce you to take risks that  
compromise safety. Parking systems cannot replace driver  
attention.  
However, if the brake pedal is depressed when deactivating the  
function, the electronic parking brake will not engage ÿ .  
Temporarily disengaging with the key  
When maneuvering it may be necessary to temporarily  
disengage the Auto Hold function to make it easier for the  
vehicle to roll.  
· Always adapt your speed and driving style to the visibility,  
weather, road and traffic conditions.  
1. Depress the brake pedal with the engine running.  
2. Press the key. The Auto-Hold function is deactivated
