The engine cannot be started If an

Can't start the engine
It is not possible to start the engine with the vehicle
key or by briefly pressing the ignition and starter
button, even when the brake or clutch pedal is
depressed, as appropriate.

There is a fault in the starting system.
The Start-Stop system automatically shuts off the
engine when the vehicle comes to a standstill and
when the vehicle is stopped. If necessary, the motor
restarts automatically.
1. Keep the vehicle key turned or the button pressed
until the engine starts.
2. Ask for the help of duly qualified specialized
personnel. Volkswagen recommends a
Volkswagen dealer.
Switching on the Start-Stop
system This function is activated automatically when
the ignition is switched on. Information about the
current status is shown on the instrument panel
display.
Can't start engine remotely
If any of the following conditions are met, the remote
start feature will not start the engine or will shut it down

WARNING
If the Start-Stop system is used for a long time at
very high outside temperatures, the 12 volt battery
may be damaged.
In some cases it may be necessary to restart
the engine manually.
Observe the message that appears in this regard
on the instrument panel display.
On vehicles with drive profile selection ÿ p.

activated when the Eco profile is selected.
