The content of the on-board tool kit depends on the
country and the equipment. In some countries there

2 Anti-theft wheel bolt adapter Volkswagen
recommends always keeping the wheel bolt
adapter in the vehicle together with the on-board
tools. The code for the anti-theft wheel bolts is
engraved on the front of the adapter . With this
code it is possible to get a replacement adapter
in case of loss. Therefore, it is advisable to write
down this code and store it somewhere outside
the vehicle.
On-board tools can be housed in different places
in the vehicle, e.g. under the boot floor ΓΏ p. 287 or in
a trunk side storage compartment.
Depending on the equipment, the vehicle may have
a separate box with on-board tools in the boot.
These tools have been provided for a possible
change of winter tires and do not need to be
permanently carried on the vehicle.

Cleaning and changing the wiper blades
In the service position, the wiper arms can be lifted
out of the windshield.
Factory-fitted wiper blades are coated with
graphite. This layer is responsible for the sweep on
the glass taking place silently. If the layer is damaged,
among other things, the noise will increase when
scanning on the glass.
Regularly check the condition of the wiper blades.
If the brushes slide with difficulty, change them
if they are damaged or clean them if they are dirty
ΓΏ .
If the wiper blades are damaged, replace them
immediately. Wiper blades can be purchased in
duly qualified specialized workshops. Volkswagen
recommends a Volkswagen dealer.

Activate the service position with the wiper
lever
1. Close the front hood ΓΏ p. 334 and the driver and
passenger doors.
1. Raise the wiper arm, holding it only in the area
where the wiper blade is attached.
2. Switch the ignition on and off again.
3. Briefly press the wiper lever in the direction of
short wipe ΓΏ p. 125.

Raise the arms of the wiper from the windshield
