Improper use of the steering wheel position
adjustment and incorrect steering wheel adjustment
can cause serious injury or death.
· After adjustment, always press the lever ÿ fig. 78 1
firmly upwards so that the position of the steering
wheel is not accidentally changed while driving.
Introduction to the topic
The adjustment possibilities for the front seats are
described below. Always make sure that the seats are
adjusted correctly ÿ p. 43.
· Never adjust the steering wheel while driving. If while
driving you find that adjustment is necessary, stop
the vehicle safely and adjust the steering wheel
correctly.
WARNING
· In order not to limit the protective function of the
driver's frontal airbag in the event of an accident,
the steering wheel must always point towards the
chest, never towards the face.
Before setting off, always adjust the front seats
correctly and make sure that all occupants are
wearing their seatbelts correctly.
· To reduce the risk of injury in case the driver's frontal
airbag deploys, always hold the steering wheel
from the sides, on the outside, with your hands in
the equivalent 9 o'clock position while driving. 3
hours ÿ fig. 79.
· Move the front passenger seat as far back as
possible.
· Adjust the driver's seat so that there is a minimum
distance of 25 cm (approx. 10 inches) between
the chest and the center of the steering wheel.
Adjust the seat so that you can fully depress the
pedals with your knees slightly bent and that
there is a distance between the knee area and
the instrument panel of at least 10 cm (approx. 4
inches). If you cannot maintain this distance due
to physical conditions, go without fail to a duly
qualified specialized workshop so that, if

· Never ride with the seat back tilted excessively
backwards. The more the seat back is tilted back,
the greater the risk of injury from improperly
positioned seat belts and incorrect sitting position.
· Never ride with the seat back tilted forward. If the
front airbag were to deploy, it could throw the
seatback backwards and injure the occupants in
the rear seats.
ros.
· Always adjust the front seat correctly and always
sit upright with your back against the back of the
seat. Do not place any part of your body directly
on or too close to where the air bag is mounted.

· Adjust the front seats upright, fore/aft and
inclination only when there is no one in the
adjustment area of the front seats.
All the controls that the seat can carry are described below.
The number of controls may vary depending on the version of the
seat.
The controls for the front passenger seat are arranged
symmetrically.
· Do not allow any object to obstruct the adjustment
area of the seats.
On the seat there may be controls for mechanical adjustment
combined with controls for electrical adjustment.
· Adjust the rear seats longitudinally and
inclination only when there is no one else in the
adjustment zone.
Do not allow adjustment and blocking zones
of the seats are dirty.
WARNING
Incorrect use of upholstery and seat covers could cause the
electric seat adjustment to be accidentally activated and the
seat to move unexpectedly while driving.
This could cause you to lose control of the vehicle and cause
accidents and injuries. Likewise, material damage can occur in
the electrical components of the front seats.
· Never attach or place upholstery or seat covers

· Never use upholstery or covers that have not
been expressly authorized for the seats of this

Objects with sharp edges can damage the seats.
4 Pull the lever to move the seat forwards or backwards. After
releasing the lever, the seat must engage!

the risk of suffering serious injuries increases if
they are not seated upright, since the seat belts
